We are thrilled to announce that Calmocean has been selected as the third-party supervision consultant connected with responsible recycling of BW Offshore’s FPSO Petróleo Nautipa taking place at the Baijnath Melaram ship recycling facility in India. This marks a significant step in our ongoing commitment to sustainability and responsible maritime operations.

As the selected third-party supervisor, Calmocean’s role is to ensure that the recycling of the FPSO is conducted in compliance with the highest environmental, safety, and health standards, adhering to the Hong Kong International Convention and other relevant regulations and guidelines. Our experienced team is dedicated to overseeing that these standards are rigorously maintained, reflecting our commitment to enhancing the circular economy within the maritime industry.

🚢 About the FPSO Petróleo Nautipa: The vessel, which has been a cornerstone in offshore operations at the Etame field offshore Gabon for Vaalco Energy from 2002 until 2022, is now set for a sustainable end-of-life process. During its operational years, the FPSO Petróleo Nautipa saw multiple contract extensions, demonstrating its critical role in the field’s development.
