life-cycle thinking within maritime industry
Who we are
Calmocean’s vision is to intensify life-cycle thinking within the maritime industry.
Calmocean’s vision is to intensify life-cycle thinking within the maritime industry.
Calmocean was set-up by Petter Heier and Magnus Hammerstad.
Petter has extensive experience within the maritime industry as ship repair manager, superintendent and CEO and the person behind Grieg Green. He holds a double MBA from European Business School (ESCP) and Norwegian Business School (BI) on top of a degree within maritime engineering from University of Agder. Petter is an entrepreneur and has a strong dedication for sustainability through collaboration and partnerships.
Magnus is a marine engineer from Norwegian University of Science and Technology and Chalmers University of Technology in Gothenburg. He worked in Grieg Green for nearly 10 years building and leading the company’s recycling and decommissioning divisions.
Calmocean’s vision is to intensify life-cycle thinking within the maritime industry. We ensure that vessels are built sustainably with focus on safety at the yards meeting all environmental standards of the future.
A significant amount of ‘too-early-to-recycle’-assets can easily be converted, partly or entirely, to the benefit of new life in different shipping and offshore segments. Backed by our industry leading network of asset owners, naval architects and yards , Calmocean wants to scale up the possibility that exists in re-use/conversion projects. For vessels where phase-out is required, Calmocean delivers what is considered to be the industry-leading expert recycling consultancy service.
Collaboration is the key for a successful transition into circular economy within shipping and offshore. Calmocean cooperates with the most forward-leaning companies in the maritime industry and together we want to take a leading role in the transition.
