Transparency Act 2026: Making the Statement Count

The deadline for the annual Transparency Act statement is approaching again, and by now most Norwegian maritime companies have been through this process several times. The mechanics are familiar. What we still see, though, is a gap between what the statement says and what the company actually knows about conditions in its supply chain, particularly at the yard level, and further downstream from there.

The Transparency Act was designed to drive genuine due diligence, not just annual documentation. For shipping companies, that means being able to speak credibly to what is happening at the yards your vessels go to. For newbuilding, repair, and recycling, it means having visibility beyond your direct counterparty. And it means being able to respond to information requests with something substantive rather than a reference to your supplier code of conduct. That is the work we support, on the ground, throughout the year. If your 2026 statement needs to reflect genuine due diligence rather than a compliance exercise, get in touch as we are happy to help you take your reporting to the next level.
